Last week I did an assignment for a good client of mine, Studio Roosegaarde. Daan Roosegaarde, owner of the design studio always amazes me with his new idea's and concepts. This time his ongoing project Smart Highway introduced "Glowing Lines" on the highway N329 in Oss, The Netherlands.
Though the scenes were shot at night, it still was pretty busy on the road. To photograph some of the scenes we had to close off the highway for a few times. With the help of some traffic controllers we managed to get the shots quite smoothly. Love the results!
"Smart Highways are interactive and sustainable roads of tomorrow by designer Daan Roosegaarde and Heijmans Infrastructure.
The first Smart Highway is Glowing Lines which are lines that charge at day-time, and glow at night for eight hours. Here the landscape becomes energy-neutral and a poetic experience. The first pilot of Glowing Lines has been realised at N329 in Oss (NL) and will be further launched international."
